The performance of S. Gulak-Artemovsky's opera "Zaporozhets za Dunayem (Cossacks in Exile)" on February 22

 On 22 February the premiere of the opera "Cossack beyond the Danube" by Semyon Gulak-Artemovskiy under the baton of Margarita Grinevetskaya-Holmatova will take place on the stage of Odessa National Theatre of Opera and Ballet.

Margarita Grinevetskaya-Holmatova was born in the Crimea in 1994. At the age of 5 she entered the music school (piano class). In 2004, after winning the contest "Vivat, musica!"(New Kakhovka) in the nomination "composition" (class Tomlenova A.), she began studying at the Odessa secondary special music boarding school named after Stolyarskiy in the specialty "vocal and choral conducting" (class Yakovchuk, T. and Kuzub O.).

She first conducted the orchestra at the age of 15.

In 2010 she entered Odessa National Academy of Music named after Nezhdanova,  speciality "choral conducting" in the class of professor P. Serebri, in 2011 she also entered the faculty of opera-symphony conducting in the class of the chief conductor of Odessa National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet A. Samoila.  In 2013 as a part of the practical study, she conducted several concerts in Yalta and Sevastopol with the Crimean symphony orchestra under the baton of Igor Kazhdan.

In 2014 she started her studying at the National Music Academy of Ukraine named after Tchaikovsky, specialty "Opera and Symphony conducting", in the class of People's Artist of Ukraine, Professor Vlasenko A.

In 2015, as an assistant of Oksana Lyniv, she participated in the Paul Ruders’ opera production Selma in Bayerische Staatsoper (Munich) and in the recording of Boris Lyatoshinsky's symphonic works with Bamberg Symphony Orchestra for Bavarian Radio (Bamberg). In the same year, as a conductor of the ensemble of contemporary music "Artokrats", she took part in the Silent Film Festival "Silent nights-2015", scoring the Ukrainian film "Wind from the doorsteps." 

In 2016, she won the Grand Prix and the audience award at the 5th  all-Ukrainian contest-festival of the conductor's art "Musical Tavria" (Kherson). In the same year, she debuted with a concert on the Small stage "Bel Etage" of the Odessa National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet.  

In 2017 she participated in the International festival LvivMozArt (Ukraine, Lviv). In the same year, she became a participant of the Third International Competition of conductors named after S. Turchak (Kyiv). During her study in NMAU named after Tchaikovsky, she conducted concerts with the orchestra of the Department of Opera and Symphony conducting, as well as opera performances in the Opera Studio of the Academy.
