Soloist of Odessa Opera House Viktor Mityushkin was awarded the honourary title of People's Artist of Ukraine

Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre is proud to announce that the opera soloist Viktor Mityushkin was awarded the honourary title of People's Artist of Ukraine.

According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 188/2019, the singer was awarded “for his significant personal contribution to the cultural and educational [...] development of Ukraine, significant labour achievements and high professionalism”.

Viktor Mityushkin (baritone) is a laureate of international competitions and a participant of international music festivals. He has been working in Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre since 1990. From 2003 to 2005, he worked at Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. His repertoire includes more than thirty leading parts in the operas “The Queen of Spades” and “Mazepa” by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, “The Fiery Angel” by Sergey Prokofiev, “Falstaff”, “Troubadour”, “Un ballo in maschera” by Rigoletto, “Macbeth” and “Nabucco” by Giuseppe Verdi and others.

Viktor Mityushkin performed on the stages of National Opera of Ukraine in Kiev, Festschpil Haus in Salzburg, Theater du Chatelet in Paris, Grand theatr in Geneva. He participated in the concerts in Munich, Bonn, Berlin, Zurich; toured in Italy, Spain, Russia.
