There are two debuts in “Cossacks beyond the Danube”

In the earliest performance“Cossacks beyond the Danube” the theatre-goers will first hear soprano Alina Druhak as Oksana, and baritone Olexander Stryuk as Sultan.

Alina Drugak is a Grand Prixwinner of the International Festival-Competition "South Express" and winner of other international and All-Ukrainian vocal competitions. She graduated from Odessa National Music Academy named after Antonina Nezhdanova as well as internship and on March 1, 2018 she debuted on the stage of Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre as Michaela (“Carmen” by Georges Bizet). She also performs the parts in the operas “Orpheus and Eurydice” by Gluck, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” by Kolmanovskiy, “Turandot” by Puccini and others.

Olexander Stryuk is a winner of First awards of national and international competitions and festivals. He got personal recognition of Evgenia Miroshnichenko and the special award of her foundation at Nikolay Lysenko music competition in Kiev. He graduated from Odessa National Music Academy and finished postgraduate studies, and in 2003 he debuted on the stage of Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. The singer’s repertoire includes the operas “Eugene Onegin”, “The Queen of Spades” and “Iolanta” by Tchaikovsky, “La Traviata”, “Aida” and “Un ballo in maschera” by Verdi, “The Barber of Seville” by Rossini, “Carmen” by Bizet, “Lucia di Lammermoor "by Donizetti, etc.

The earliest performance “Cossacks beyond the Danube” under the baton of conductor Margarita Grinivetskaya will take place on Thursday, May 16.
