Veronika Levshina will debut as Pannochka in the opera-ballet “Viy”

In the performance “Viy”, which will be held on the stage of our theatre today, June 5, the theatre-goerswill first see a ballet dancer Veronika Levshina as Pannochka. The part of Khoma will be performed by a soloist of the opera troupe Olexander Stryuk (baritone).

Veronika Levshina graduated from Odessa State School of Culture and Art named after Dankevich, and in 2009 she received a master's degree in choreography at Kiev University of Culture and Art. She performs the parts in the ballets “Carmen Suite” by Bizet, “La Bayadere” and “Don Quixote” by L. Minkus, “Swan Lake” and “The Sleeping Beauty” by P. Tchaikovsky. She also participates in choreographic scenes in the operas “Don Juan” by Mozart, “Turandot” by Puccini , “La Traviata” and “Aida” by Verdi, “Prince Igor” by Borodin and others.

The premiere of the opera-ballet “Viy” by Vitaliy Gubarenko, staged by the People’s Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Georgiy Kovtun, took place at Odessa Opera and Ballet Theatre on September 20, 2014. In 2019 the production entered the short list of the National Prize of Shevchenko.

Vitaliy Kovalchuk will conduct the current performance.
