The ballet “La Bayadere” will first be conducted by Vitaliy Kovalchuk

The ballet “La Bayadere” by Ludwig Minkus will first be conducted by Vitaliy Kovalchuk on June 14.

He graduated from National Music Academy in Kiev, studied at the conducting department of Leipzig University and the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar. In 2006/7 Vitaliy Kovalchuk conducted the Leipzig Youth Orchestra, then he worked as chief conductor and artistic director of Schott Orchester in Jena. In 2008 he became the laureate of XI International Conductor Contest in Budapest. He was invited to Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre in 2011.

In the performance on this Friday the audience will also enjoy for the first time a ballet soloist Andrey Pisarev as Solor. Three more artists will debut as new characters - Bogdan Chabanyuk as the High Brahmin, Roman Lobkin will take part in the Hindu dance and Anastasia Yarotskaya - in the Trio of Shades.

The performance starts at 18:30.
