The first two October performances will be dedications

On October 1 World Music Day is celebrated all over the world. Also, this day 132 years ago, the current building of our theatre started to work. The first two performances of the coming October will be held with dedications.

So, the opera “Nabucco” which will take place on the stage of the theatre on Tuesday, October 1, will be held on the occasion of the awarding of the title of People's Artist of Ukraine to the soloist of our troupe Viktor Mitiushkin. He is a laureate of international competitions in Ukraine, the Czech Republic and Belgium; he participated in international festivals named after Pyotr Tchaikovsky, named after Leonid Sobinov, named after Fedir Chaliapin. He has been working at Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre since 1990. The singer’s repertoire includes more than thirty leading parts in the famous opera performances.

At the earliest performance “Nabucco”, Viktor Mitiushkin will play the leading role. The other parts will be performed by Natalia Pavlenko (Abigaille), Honoured Artists of Ukraine Tetiana Spaska (Fennen), Dmytro Pavliuk (Zaccaria) and Vladyslav Horai (Ismaele), as well as soloists Alina Vorokh (Anna) and Serhii Uzun (High Priest).

For the first time, the theatre-goers will hear Andrii Perfilov as Abdallo.

The performance will be conducted by the chief conductor of the theatre Viacheslav Chernukho-Volich.

The ballet troupe of the theatre decided to devote the next performance “Swan Lake” to the 210th jubilee theatre season. On Wednesday, October 2, the theatre-goers will see Honoured Artists Olena Dobrianska and Serhii Dotsenko as Odette-Odile and Prince Siegfried, Viacheslav Kravchenko in the role of Rothbart, Stanislav Varankin as Jester, the ballet dancers will participate in other parts.
