Principal Stage Director

Ms. Taranenko finished the R. Gliyer Kiev Higher Music School in 1994 and the Faculty of Stage Direction of the Karpenko-Kary Kiev Institute of Theatrical Art in 2000 ( a course of Lesi Tanyuk, People’s Artist of Ukraine).

She has worked for TV channels as a producing stage director, journalist, TV hostess for 10 years. The stage director has put up a number of TV series and thematic TV films.

Ms. Tarasenko’s productions include musical shows, in particular opera Kashchei Bessmertny by Rimsky-Korsakov (2000), Loneliness ?! by Anastasia Kolmikova (2009) and a musical show the Musicians of Bremen by Gennady Gladkov (2003) on the stage of the opera studio of the Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music. In 2005 she staged an opera The Impresario by Mozart and La cambiale di matrimonio by Rossini at the Solovyanenko Donetsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in 2005. In 2009 and 2010 Ms. Tarasenko staged two concerts dedicated to the memory of an outstanding singer, People’s Artist of the USSR Eugenia Miroshnichenko at the National Philharmonics of Ukraine.

In 2010 she worked as a stage director, in 2012 Ms. Taranenko occupied the position of the stage director and artistic director’s assistant in the Kyiv Municipal Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre for Children and Youth before the new appointment.  

 She put up a musical show The Twelve Months by Sergey Banevich (2010), theatrical concerts to the season’s closings the Italian Fresh (2009) and The Thirteenth Month  (2010), the concert of the ensemble Choral Arabesques (2011 год). In 2012 she has produced some educational programs Musical Classics 2. The Ballet ABC for children and their parents” and the concert dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the theatre.

 Oksana Taranenko   staged two productions as a guest stage director in the Odessa Opera in 2013. They were La serva padrona by G. Pergolesi on the small Bel-Etage stage and the musical fairy tale for the whole family The Emerald City (The Wizard of the Oz) with the music of the famous composers of the 18th - 20th centuries. She was offered to take a position of Principal Stage Director of the Odessa Opera and Ballet Theatre in the same year.
