Museum

In June 2011, the director general of the theater Nadezhda Babich initiated the start of work on the formation of a collection and the creation of an exposition of the museum of the history of the Odessa Opera and Ballet Theater. The work was entrusted to the creative group of the Odessa Literary Museum, headed by its director Tatyana Liptuga (project manager Anna Poltoratskaya). The author of the artistic and technical project is the Honored Artist of Ukraine Stanislav Zaitsev.

The Theater History Museum is located in the premises of the former theater box office. The ticket offices have changed their location - now tickets are sold in the old ticket offices, originally intended for this purpose and located in the lobby, directly in front of the main entrance to the theater foyer.

The museum presents the Odessa Opera and Ballet Theater as part of the common cultural heritage, shows theatrical art in its development, gives an idea of the theater's creative biography throughout the years of its existence. The museum's exposition uses materials from archives and personal collections: photographs, documents, posters, programs of performances of the repertoire of different years. The theatrical atmosphere in the museum is created by interior installations, sketches of scenery and costumes, items of theatrical use, texts about the theater, documentary evidence about theater artists and guest performers, about conductors, directors, artists.

We appeal to all residents of Odessa with a request to donate to the museum exhibits - materials about the theater (printed materials - posters, programs, booklets, tickets; publications; manuscripts; objects; photographs, etc.). We will be grateful to everyone who responds to our request. Reception of exhibits takes place at the Odessa Literary Museum on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 to 15:00.
