Ellina POKHODNYKH debuts as Odette-Odile in the Swan Lake

On upcoming Sunday, March 30th, a ballet soloist of the Odessa Opera Ellina POKHODNYKH debuts as Odette-Odile in Swan Lake by Pyotr TCHAIKOVSKY. The ballerina has danced the parts of Maids of Honor, Swans, Brides and the I Act waltz.


Ellina POKHODNYKH is the Third Prize Winner of the International Youth Classical Choreography Competition “Galician Terpsichore” (L’viv, 2006), the Third Prize Winner of the Yuri Grigorovich International Competition “World’s Young Ballet” (Sochi, 2006), the Second Prize Winner of the Choreography Art festival “Dance without Borders – 2007”(Kyiv) as well as a Diploma recipient of the International Ballet Competition “Varna – 2008”. The ballerina obtained the First Prize in the International Festival Competition of Youth and Children’s Choreographic Art “Odessa pearls” in 2007 and became a recipient of the yearly scholarship from the Odessa Region Governor in the Choreographic Art nomination in 2007. She has been working at the Odessa Opera since 2009. Ms. POKHODNYKH performs the lead parts in Giselle and Paquita, dances the roles of Aurora Princess and The Lilac fairy in the Sleeping Beauty, Gamzatti inLa Bayadere and other parts and numbers.

Ellina POKHODNYKH’s partners in the 30th of March performance are Stanislav SKRYNNIK (Prince Siegfried) and Dmytro SHARAY (Rothbart, an evil genius).

Igor SHAVRUK, Honoured Artist of Ukraine, conducts the performance.

The performance starts at 6:30 pm.
