Anastasia HOLUB debuts as Liù in Turandot

The Odessa Opera soloist Anastasia HOLUB appears as “Liù” in Turandot by Puccini for the first time. The performance is to be on stage in the director’s cut by Stanislav GAUDASINSKY, People’s Artist of Russia, tomorrow on April 30th, 2014.

Ms. Holub is a recipient of the 3rd Prize at the Maiboroda International Vocal Competition (1999) and the 2nd Prize at the Ivan Alchevsky International Vocal Competition (2007).

The singer is a graduate of the Nezhdanova Odessa National Academy of Music.


She performs lead parts in the operas from the theater repertoire, in particular “Gilda” in Rigoletto by G. Verdi, “Violetta” in La traviata by G.Verdi, “Musetta” in La boheme by G. Puccini, “Masha” and “Prilepa” in the Pique Dame by P. Tchaikovsky as well as many other parts. Ms. Holub has performed “Turandot’s handmaid” in Turandot so far.

The April 30th performance features Tetyana ZAKHARCHUK, Honored Artist of Ukraine, as “Turandot” and Valery BENDEROV as “Calàf”. Other performers are Anatoly KAPUSTIN, People’s Artist of Ukraine, as “The Emperor”, Sergiy UZUN as “Timur”, Irina OLEKSIV and Taisia SHAFRANSKAYA as “Turandot’s handmaids”, Volodymir MURASHCHENKO, Valery REEGRUT and Andriy PERFILOV as “Ping”, “Pang” and “Pong” respectively, Yuri DUDAR as “Mandarin” and Mykola RESHETNIOV as “Persian Prince”.

Principal Conductor of the Odessa Opera Alexandru SAMOILĂ, People’s Artist of the Republic of Moldova, conducts the performance.

The performance starts at 6:30 pm.
