The Odessa Opera closes its 204th theatrical season on 6 July

This Sunday, July 6th the Odessa Opera is closing the 204th theatrical season. The opera Turandot by Giacomo Puccini in the director’s cut of the People’s Artist of Russia Stanislav GAUDASINSKY is on stage on the closing night.

The lead part is performed by a prizewinner of international competitions Natalia PAVLENKO. Her first appearance as Turandot was on the Odessa Opera stage on the 20th of June 2014 (in the photo).

A recipient of the Golden Medal and a Special Prize of the Hariclea Darclée International Voice Competition has debuted as Lisa in Pique Dame by Tchaikovsky and Amelia in Un ballo in maschera by Verdi in this ending theatrical season. On top of that she has participated in 3 out of 4 concerts of pipe organ music since the pipe organ restoration.

Kostiantyn ANDREYEV sings the leading male part of Calàf in the 6th of July performance. It will be his first appearance in Tudandot of Stanislav Gaudasinsky’s director’s cut. The singer has taken part only in Christian VON GÖTZ’s cut.

Kostiantyn ANDREYEV was invited to join the Odessa Opera Company in the beginning of the 204th season. This year Mr. ANDREYEV has performed the part of Herman (Pique Dame by Tchaikovsky), Pinkerton (Madam Butterfly by Puccini) and Rudolf (La bohème by Puccini) and has participated in a number of concerts.

Catherina TSYMBALYUK and Taisia SHAFRANSKAYA as Turandot's handmaids,
Volodimir MURASHCHENKO, Ruslan ZINEVICH and Andriy PERFILOV as Ping, Pang and Pong.

Vasyl NAVROTSKY, People’s Artist of Ukraine, sings the part of Timur, Anatoly KAPUSTIN, People’s Artist of Ukraine performs the role of Chinese Emperor.

Igor TCHERNETSKY conducts the performance.

The performance starts at 6:30 pm.
