Two guest soloists are taking part in the opening of the 205th season at the Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.

The 9th of August Aida features Alla POZNYAK, a soloist of the National Opera of Ukraine, as Amneris. Tatiana BUSUIOC, Honoured Artist of the Republic of Moldova, a soloist of the National Opera of the Republic of Moldova, appears as Amneris on the 10th of August.

Alla Poznyak is a graduate of the Kotlyarevsky Kharkov Arts Institute. The singer is a prizewinner of the First Ivan Alchevsky International Opera Singers Competition (Ukraine) and a Diploma recipient of the Antonín Dvořák International Vocal Competition Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic).

Bride
by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov), Marfa and Marina (Khovanchchina and Boris Godunov by Modest Mussorgsky), Milovzor, Olga and Lyubov Kochubey (The Queen of Spades, Eugene Onegin and Mazeppa by Pyotr Tchaikovsky), Azucena, Amneris, Princess Eboli, Ulrica and Maddalena (Il trovatore, Aida, Don Carlos, Un ballo en maschera and Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi) as well as other parts and numbers.

After the singer’s appearance in Requiem by Verdi at the La Chaise-Dieu Festival de musique in 2009 the newspaper Le Progrès (Lyon, France) noted Alla Poznuyak’s unique voice that was described as “powerful and of rare coloring”.

The singer has toured in Japan, Italy, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Denmark, Czech Republic, Poland, Turkey and Russia. She has also taken part in recordings made for the records bank of the National Radio of Ukraine and has sung Eboli for DVD performance of Don Carlos produced by the Luciano Pavarotti opera theatre (Modena, Italy).

Tatiana Busuioc finished the Tiraspol Music College and then graduated from the Odessa State Conservatory (The Nezhdanova National Academy of Music at present). She has been working at the National Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Moldova since 1991.

The singer’s repertory includes the parts of Cherubino (The Marriage of Figaro by W. A. Mozart), Fenena, Flora, Azucena, Amneris and Eboli (Nabucco, La traviata, Il trovatore, Aida, Don Carlos by Giuseppe Verdi), Carmen (the same name opera by Bizet), Suzuki (Madame Butterfly by G. Puccini), Santuzza (Cavalleria rusticana by Pietro Mascagni), Olga (Eugene Onegin by P. Tchaikovsky) and others.

Master in Arts Tatiana Busuioc has toured Italy, Spain, Portugal, The UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Holland. She has been working with the opera companies of Romania, Ukraine, Italy and the UK.

“The singer is at the peak of her stage career and blossom of her artistic gift. She has a “rare voice of high mezzo-soprano, that is deep and charming (the coloring is similar to the one of the Russian prima-donna Irina Arkhipova) that extraordinarily combines velvet and power. Her voice stirs up feelings promising something beyond this world”, wrote the newspaper The Moldavian News.

The performances of August 9 and 10 start at 6:30 pm.
