Two Odessa Opera soloists to debut in the part of Ramfis in Aida

Two Odessa Opera soloists to debut in the part of Ramfis in Aida by Giuseppe VERDI during the 205th theatrical season opening.

Igor TSAR'KOV appears as Ramfis on the 9th of August and Dmytro PAVLYUK performs the same role on the 10th of August.

This is Igor Tsar'kov's second role in Aida. He has appeared as Pharaoh, The King of Egypt so far (in the picture below). Dmytro Pavlyuk sings in this opera for the first time.

Igor Tsar'kov is the First Prize winner at the Sixth Open Singing Competition for Young Vocalists "Solovyiny Yarmarok" (Nightingale Fair) named after Anatoly SOLOVYANENKO and National Competition "New Names" in Kyiv. The singer has also participated in Vladimir GRISHKO's projects called "The New Opera Face" and "The World's Hits". He has also taken part in Luciano PAVAROTTI workshop in Kyiv.

The singer is a graduate of the Dnepropetrovsk Music College and the Nezhdanova State (National at present) Music Academy. Igor Tsar'kov was admitted into the opera troupe of The Odessa Opera in October 2011. He debuted as Bertrand in Iolanta by Pyotr TCHAIKOVSKY. Since then he has performed the parts of Il Commendatore (Don Pedro) from the opera Don Giovanni by W. A. MOZART, Timur, the deposed King of Tartary, from the opera Turandot by Giacomo PUCCINI and the King of Egypt from the opera Aida by Giuseppe VERDI, Narumov in Pique Dame by Pyotr TCHAIKOVSKY. Mr. Tsar'kov is also a frequent participant of the opera concert.

Dmytro Pavlyuk is a participant of the Boris CHRISTOV Singing Competition in Bulgaria and of the Open Singing Competition for Young Vocalists "Solovyiny Yarmarok".

The singer is a graduate of the Vorobkevich Tchernovtsi State Arts and Culture College and the Nezhdanova State Music Academy. He has been working at the Odessa Opera since 1995. His repertoire includes Leporello (Don Giovanni), Karas (The Cossacks in Exile by Semen HULAK-ARTEMOVSKY), Ferrando (Il Trovatore by Verdi), Sparafucile (Rigoletto by Verdi), Colline (La Boheme by Puccini),The King Rene (Iolanta by Tchaikovsky), Surin (Pique Dame by Tchaikovsky), Bartolo (Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Gioachino ROSSINI), other parts and numbers.

Mr. Pavlyuk has toured Germany, Spain and The UK.

The leading performers in the 9th of August Aida are Larisa ZUENKO, Honoured Artist of Ukraine (Aida), and Oleksiy REPCHINSKY (Radames). Other performers are Julia TERESCHUK (The Priestess), Olexander STRYUK (Amonasro), Sergiy KRASNYKH (A messenger) and Dmytro SEBOV (The King of Egypt), the chorus, ballet, orchestra and mimans of the theatre.

The cast of the 10th of August: Valery BENDEROV, Honoured Artist of Ukraine (Radames), Anna LITVINOVA (Aida), Catherine TSYMBALYUK (The Priestess), Valery REGRUT (A messenger), Dmytro SEBOV (Pharaoh), Olexander STRYUK (Amonasro), the chorus, ballet, orchestra and mimans of the theater.

It was reported earlier that Amneris is sung by two guest stars, in particular, Alla POZNYAK, a soloist of the National Opera of Ukraine (on August 9) and Tatiana BUSUIOC, Honoured Artist of the Republic of Moldova, a soloist of the National Opera of Moldova (on August 10).

Both night performances are conducted by Alexandru SAMOILĂ, Principal Conductor of the Odessa Opera and People's Artist of the Republic of Moldova.

The performances start at 6:30 pm.
