Vasiliy Dobrovolskiy will first perform the part of Ibn-Hakia in the opera "Iolanta" by P. Tchaikovsky

Laureate of international competitions Vasiliy Dobrovolskiy will first perform the part of Moorish doctor Ibn-Hakia in the opera "Iolanta" by P. Tchaikovsky on 12 October.

"Iolanta" (1891) is the last opera by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, written a year before his death. It is one of the lightest and the most life-affirming operas. "Opera is perceived as an enthusiastic, radiant hymn to love, that opens the best aspects of the human soul and carries the light of knowledge, pleasure, beauty, and happiness." (M. Druskin)

Vasiliy Dobrovolskiy is a graduate of Odessa State (now - National) Academy of Music named after A. Nezhdanova (class of solo singing) in 2010. He has been working in Odessa Opera and Ballet Theatre since 2009.

The repertoire of the artist includes the part of Don Juan ( "Don Giovanni" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart), Prince Yeletsky ( "The Queen of Spades" by Tchaikovsky), Enrico ( "Lucia di Lammermoor" by Donizetti), Marchese d'Obigny ( "La Traviata" by G. Verdi), Schaunard ( "La Boheme" by G. Puccini), Ping ( "Turandot" by G. Puccini) and others.
