Opera "Turandot" by Giacomo Puccini on February 17

 Opera "Turandot" by Giacomo Puccini will be performed at Odessa National Theatre of Opera and Ballet on February 17. It will be held under the baton of the conductor of the Bolshoi Theatre of the Republic of Belarus Vyacheslav Chernukho-Volich.

Vyacheslav Chernukho-Volich is a graduate of the Belarusian State Academy of Music (the class of People's Artist of Russia, professor G. Provatorov) and Master's degree programme (research director - People's Artist of Belarus, professor A. Anisimov). Laureate of the National Theatre Awards of the Republic of Belarus (for staging the operas "Nabucco" and "Aida" by G. Verdi), the owner of the Medal of Francysk Skaryna, the Special Prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus for artists and art workers, the award of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus in the field of literature and art. From 2001 to 2006  he was the chief guest conductor of the Opera and Ballet Theatre of Mersin (Turkey). Since 1993 he is a conductor of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. In 2002-2004 - the chief conductor of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. Since 2016 Vyacheslav Chernukho-Volich is the chief conductor of the symphonic orchestra of Belteleradiocompany in Minsk.

Vyacheslav Chernukho-Volich is a conductor of the operas: " Les pêcheurs de perles ", "Carmen" by G. Bizet, "Nabucco", "La Traviata", "Aida" by G. Verdi, "La Boheme", "Turandot" by G. Puccini, "Pagliacci" by R. Leoncavallo, "Cavaleria rustiana" by P. Mascagni, “Boris Godunov” by M. Mussorgsky, "The Tsar's Bride" by N. Rimsky-Korsakov, the ballets "The Fairy's Kiss", "The Firebird", "The Sacred Spring" by I. Stravinsky, " The Legend of Thyl Ulenspiegel  "by E. Glebov, " Serenade " by P. Tchaikovsky," Seven Beauties " by K. Karayev," Vitovt " by V. Kuznetsov. He realized the world premiere of the opera "Jubilee" by S. Cortez (Solothurn, Switzerland). Since 1998 to 2002 he was an assistant of the Austrian conductor Ralf Weikert at the international opera festival in Solothurn Open-air, where he collaborated with Giuseppe Giacomini, Renato Bruzon, Salvatore Fisichella, Pato Burchuladze, Ludmila Shemchuk and many other outstanding singers. His repertoire includes more than 50 operas and ballets of Western European, Russian and national composers.

Vyacheslav Volich cooperates with famous opera theatres, the Moscow Theatre of the New Opera named after E.V. Kolobova, Azerbaijan Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after M. Akhundov, Tatar Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after M. Jalil and others are among them.

He is a participant of the international opera festivals, including Festival named after F. Chaliapin, Kazan. He is the author of many creative programmes and projects at the Belarusian Bolshoi Theatre, including "The Opera Night at Mir Castle", "The Young Talents of Belarus", "The Bolshoi Theatre Nights at the Radziwills' Castle".

Since 2012 he is a conductor of the Moscow Academic Music Theatre named after K. Stanislavsky and V. Nemirovich-Danchenko. He participated in the creation of the operas “War and Peace” by S. Prokofiev, “The Italian Girl in Algiers” by G. Rossini, “Aida” by G. Verdi. In October 2016 he performed the production of the Russian premiere of the opera “The Magic Lamp of Aladdin” by Nino Rota. He conducts the productions "Madame Butterfly" and "Tosca" by G. Puccini, "Lucia di Lammermoor" by G. Donizetti, "The Barber of Seville" by G. Rossini, "The Power of Fate" by G. Verdi, "Swan Lake" by P. Tchaikovsky and others.
